About Me
Dr. Jency Blesson is the Co-founder and CEO of Jewel Autism and Child Development Centre, Kottayam, Kerala and Dubai, UAE. She has been part of Jewel Autism Centre since its beginning, resigned from her previous job, and dedicated herself fully to building the organization.
She heads the Administration department, Behaviour Analysis department (ABA), Research and Development team, recruitments, social outreach, and international and national collaborations. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine, has worked as Head of R&D and senior scientist for 12 years, and is a member of AFSTI.
Jewel Autism and Child Development Centre was established in 2008 by Dr. Jameson Samuel and has grown into one of India's biggest autism centres. It caters to more than 11,000 children every year from 32 countries with a staff team of 170, and serves as an internship centre for 32 universities. It is an international multidisciplinary child development centre for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Learning Disabilities, offering Developmental Paediatrics, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Behavioural Therapy, Special Education, Group Therapy, Play Therapy, and Social Skills Training. Jewel has mainstreamed more than one lakh children with developmental needs in the past 17 years.
Dr. Jency Blesson pursued her Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and worked for various drug companies in India as Head of R&D and senior scientist for 12 years. She has a gene patent registered in the American Gene Bank, Accession Number EU182653, and has spoken at bio-pharma conferences across the globe. Jewel Autism Centre has signed MoUs with Global Indian International School Dubai, Future International Nursery Dubai, Inter University Centre for Disability Studies at MG University Kottayam, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education for research and academic collaboration.
She completed her fellowship from the American Board of Behaviour Analysis and joined Jewel as Head of Behaviour Analysis, Head of R&D, Head of International Relations, Head of Social Outreach, and Head of Administration. She has served as a Ph.D. examiner at Bharatiar University for 12 years, member of PG Board at the University of Kerala and MG University, and member of syllabus design and question paper setting boards. She is a member of WASET and AFSTI.
She was recognized on Women's Day 2020 in leading media including Club FM 104.8, and was a power speaker at the Women in Business Conclave 2023 by Thrissur Management Association. In 2023, she received recognition from Union Bank Regional Branch, Sree Buddha College of Engineering and Technology, Darshana Academy, and Rotary Excellence Award. Her parenting videos have reached 10 million views on YouTube. She has addressed 42 schools with more than 3000 parents and completed 45 parenting class venues in UAE and India. She has been featured by Asianet News, Reporter TV, Amrita TV, Manorama News, Mathrubhumi, Manoramaonline, Zee Keralam, Kerala Kaumudy, News Keralam, ACV News, and leading newspapers including Madhyamam, Hindustan Times, The New Indian Express, Times of India, Malayala Manorama, Indian Express, Sunday Express, Deshabhimani, and Deepika.
Dr. Jency Blesson was a distinguished Power Speaker in Women Entrepreneurs Network India, a consultant and parent expert for British Orchard Nursery and Global Indian International School, and an invited speaker for movie launches, event launches, churches, schools, Rotary Club events, and parenting forums. Her radio and channel appearances include Club FM Dubai and India, Ajman Gold FM 101.3, HIT FM 96.7 Dubai, Radio 4 89.1 FM Dubai, Texas USA Radio, Radio Lemon Live Australia, and 360 Radio Ajman. She has spoken at St. George Orthodox Church Puthupally, Horeb Mar Thoma Church, Mar Thoma Church Adoor, Ebenezer Mar Thoma Church Vellara, Titus II College Thiruvalla, Devivilasam Govt. L.P School Parampuzha, Bethany Ashram High School, Mar Baselios Public School, CMI Public School Chalakudy, and international conferences including an event with Dr. Stephen Mark Shore of Adelphi University, USA.
Her social projects include SMILE, which gives financial support to differently abled children and their families; CARE, which supplied more than 350 kits to the Auto Association of Kottayam during COVID-19; HOPE, which supports five old age homes in Kottayam; Cloth Bank vs Food Bank, which collects reusable clothes and supports food for 25,500 inmates in old age homes; TEACH AND TRAIN, which trains school teachers on supporting autistic children in mainstream classrooms; MAKE A CHANGE: TRANS EMPOWER FOUNDATION, which supports the transgender community through awareness, livelihood support, housing, and gender affirmation support; BLOSSOM, which mainstreams differently abled individuals by employing them in Jewel Autism Centre departments; and I Challenge Plastic Bottle, a recycling campaign where she served as district coordinator of Kottayam and one of the five core team members.
