About the Doctor

A Life Dedicated
To Reproductive Care.

Every consultation begins the same way — with listening. Dr. Ravi Shankar's training moves across continents and disciplines, from general medicine to advanced reproductive science and minimal access surgery, but the throughline is singular: understand the person before proposing the path.

His education spans India and Germany — general medical training, a specialization in obstetrics and gynaecology, a fellowship dedicated entirely to reproductive medicine, and a diploma in minimal access surgical technique under one of the field's most respected surgeons.

He leads The Nest Woman Wellness and Fertility Clinic in his hometown of Trivandrum, bringing together fertility care, women’s health and support for couples at each stage of their journey.

FAQ

Common questions.

A fertility consultation begins with a detailed review of your medical and reproductive history, followed by a discussion of any relevant investigations and next steps tailored to your situation.

IVF (in-vitro fertilization) involves stimulating the ovaries, retrieving eggs, fertilizing them in a laboratory setting, and transferring the resulting embryo. Each stage is monitored closely and adjusted to the individual.

IUI (intrauterine insemination) places prepared sperm directly into the uterus around ovulation. It is a less involved procedure than IVF and is typically considered for certain fertility profiles before more advanced treatment.

PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) can disrupt regular ovulation, which in turn affects the chances of natural conception. Management is individualized based on cycle patterns, hormonal profile and overall health.

A comprehensive evaluation reviews ovulation, tubal factors, sperm factors, reproductive history, endometrial health, and — where no clear cause is found — a closer look at unexplained factors.
