Frequently Asked Questions.

Answers to common questions parents ask before choosing therapy, assessments or a child development plan at Jewel Autism and Child Development Centre.

How do you choose the right therapy for a child?

The team first looks at the child's development, sensory needs, communication, school situation and family concerns. From there, a practical therapy plan is suggested.

Are these services only for autism?

No. Many children come for autism support, but the centre also helps with communication, learning, sensory, behavioural and other developmental concerns.

Can a child take more than one therapy?

Yes. Some children need a combined plan with occupational therapy, speech therapy, behavioural support, sensory integration, remedial education or psychology guidance.

Will parents be guided too?

Yes. Parents are guided throughout, because a child's progress is stronger when helpful strategies are continued at home, at school and in daily routines.
