Founded in 2000 with a vision of holistic, drug-free healing — today carried forward by a four-member charitable trust and a team of senior physicians.
Cherian Ashram Holistic Centre was founded in 2000 by Mr. A J John & Mrs. Mary John — social workers with 15 years of international experience in health care — with a vision to provide holistic health, and to help the patients live a drug‑free life. A 4‑member Charitable Trust was formed in pursuit of happy healthy life for young and old. The founders, being members of the trust, were happy to have the trust take over the Holistic Centre hoping for excellence. The trust consists of eminent professionals including Doctors, Engineers, Medical Staff, Teachers and Social workers.
The centre follows a comprehensive and patient-centred approach, providing treatment in a truly holistic manner by considering the overall health and individual needs of each patient. Dr. Jim Ounny John, MBBS, MD (Gen Med), DNB (Gen Med), MRCP (UK), joined the centre after completing his training at CMC Vellore. His wife, Dr. Sneha P Mathew, MBBS, Fellowship in Diabetology, PGDLM (CMC Vellore), joined the centre after completing her training in Lifestyle Medicine at CMC Vellore. Together, they combine their medical expertise with the centre’s holistic approach to provide personalised and comprehensive care, supporting patients on their journey towards better health and overall well-being.
The centre is located in a serene environment amidst total greenery. Being 500 meters away from national highway (NH220), the centre enjoys the merit of pollution‑free and noise‑free environment, as well as easy road accessibility.
The Ashram concept of the centre is a necessity for the young and old alike, as everyone is stressed in life. Homa farming and indigenous dairy rearing is practiced and promoted in our campus. We have a homely food court where organic farm products and our own dairy products are used, thus making our cuisine healthy and special.

The holistic centre was founded by the late Dr. C. P. Mathew, one of India’s most senior oncologists and holistic physicians, whose vast experience and patient-first philosophy remain the cornerstone of our care. Today, the centre is led by Dr. Jim Ounny John, MBBS, MD (Gen Med), DNB (Gen Med), MRCP (UK), carrying forward this legacy of integrated, evidence-guided holistic healing.
